Thai yoga massage is said to be about 2500 years old and is still used due to its ability to potentially help healing both emotional and physical levels. Our treatments follow Traditional Thai massage and doesn’t use oils or lotions. The recipient remains clothed during treatment, preferably loose fitting. and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor, though it can be delivered on a massage couch also.
As opposed to other massage treatments this treatment the body is compressed, pulled, stretched, and rocked rather than rubbing or stroking the muscles, The receiver will be positioned in a variety of positions during the massage allowing for assisted stretching of the muscles.
The massage will generally follow designated lines (called “sen”) in the body. The legs and feet of the giver can be used to position the body or limbs of the recipient. This can be an uncomfortable massage, but the therapist will adjust the pressure to suit the client.
Thai yoga massage, can help people relax, temporarily relieve muscle and/or joint pain, and temporarily boost a person’s mood.
